Security News Shootout!
At the end of each month, two consultants from Matta put forward three of their favourite stories in information security and invite a guest judge to pick the best story.
There's no prizes, only fame or shame.
Well November was the month when our revered government determined that it was better to save a few quid on courier fees (one has to wonder that they don't have secure electronic transfer in place), and hope that the Post Office wouldn't lose the parcel. So the single largest loss of sensitive data (ever?) makes this months competition for the most interesting story somewhat moot. The moral of the story is 'never underestimate the Post Office's ability to lose stuff'.
We will be back in early January with our next set of stories, and for the next 3 months, Senior Consultant at Matta Rob Connolly will be seeing if he can dethrone the champion Nick Baskett.
